The Ramen Girl

I’ve been waiting for this movie for two years now since the project was announced back in 2006.  “The Ramen Girl” stars Brittany Murphy as an American who gets stranded in Japan and ends up apprenticing under the cook of a local shop to learn how to make the perfect bowl of ramen.  I don’t know about you, but ramen always makes me happy.

I don’t know when this movie will be released, but at least now there’s a trailer to whet your appetite. 

But if you can’t wait and want to see a really good ramen movie, watch “Tampopo” (1985) by Juzo Itami.  I’ve read on the Internet that Murphy’s flick is a remake, but from watching the trailer, it feels like a different movie with the same theme.  I guess I just have to see for myself.
