Cyber-Mannequin

Imagine walking through a department store sometime in the not too distant future.  As you pass by a mannequin, a sensor activates tiny motors in the plastic arms setting up a series of poses, much like a real fashion model, so that you, the customer, can visualize how the latest fashion will fit.  The future is not so far away.

Besides the cyber-mannequin, Japan is researching rescue robots, cybernetics to assist the elderly, robots that look and act like fish, even robot ballroom dancing partners.  Sugoi!

How long will it be before we see a fashion show with robots walking down the runway instead of real models?
