BEAMS, a Japanese men’s fashion brand, and SHOWstudio, a fashion media site, have collaborated to produce Tokyo Style Clash, a battle royale of Tokyo fashionistas. First, the project involved photographing the fashion. In October, denizens of Tokyo lined up outside the BEAMS store in Harajuku to get their portraits taken. They were dressed from the everyday to the extreme, in this challenge anything goes. Next, the portraits were posted online to create an interactive game. The Tokyoites go head to head with their fashion while you at home get to vote if they are “hot or not.” Finally, the project ends with a VIP panel that will judge the best fashion. The panel includes Nick Knight from SHOWstudio and Jun Takahashi, the designer for ‘Undercover’. The prize is a one million yen BEAMS gift card.
Go online now to see what Tokyo is wearing and play the game! Online voting ends November 26.
