Choco Basket

Valentine’s Day is coming up and what better way to say “I love you” than with chocolate.  Well, we think we found a cuter way at least.  Try saying “I love you” with Japanese chocolate.

This year, make a special gift basket for your significant other.  It’s easy to do if you live near an Asian food supermarket.  Go directly to the candy section and pick out your favorite sweets.  We recommend a Pocky assortment, Gummy Choco, Koala’s March and Melty Blend.  But there’s so much to choose from, go as far as your heart, or your budget, will allow you.

Then find a basket or a box that you can make look nice.  We hope you can find something that can be re-used or recycled, think green people!  From here, you can pretty much figure out the rest.  We give you the idea, you add the love.

On a cultural note, in Japan, Valentine’s Day has been turned around.  The girl is expected to give chocolate to the boy.  Then a month later on White Day, the boy reveals his true love by giving white chocolate in return.  Apparently this tradition was thought up as a department store marketing ploy.  So much for love.  Anyway, we hope you get lots of chocolate on Valentine’s Day!
